About LLS
Our mission
We are a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 accredited testing and research laboratory founded in 2017. We are specialised on the analysis of hydrocarbons and other non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) in food and non-food matrices.

Our focus lies on the determination of saturated and aromatic mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOSH/MOAH) and related contaminants from biogenic (odd-numbered alkanes, alkenes and terpenes) and synthetic sources (PAO, POSH, ROSH/ROAH). Their origins can be distributed along the entire food production chain (‘from farm to fork’), e.g. through lubricants, processing aids or migration from food contact materials.

In addition, we offer the development of specific analytical methods according to customer requirements, comprehensive consulting with regard to the interpretation of results as well as the training courses.

Accreditation
DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018
We test according to the highest quality standards. Our services as a testing laboratory in conformity with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 are audited and confirmed regularly by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS). This includes both the maintenance of a quality management system equivalent to the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001 as well as additional specific requirements with regard to expertise and standardised testing processes in our testing laboratory.
Expertise
Our experienced professionals are experts in their fields.
Dr. Martin Lommatzsch
Dr. Martin Lommatzsch is co-founder and managing director of Laboratory Lommatzsch & Säger GmbH. He holds a PhD in food chemistry and completed his doctoral thesis on hydrocarbons as food contaminants in co-operation with the Zurich Cantonal Laboratory and the Technical University of Dresden.
Sebastian Säger
Sebastian Säger is co-founder and Managing Director of Laboratory Lommatzsch & Säger GmbH. The graduate food chemist worked for many years as a research assistant at the Chair for Food Chemistry and Food and Skin Contact Materials at Technical University of Dresden, where he developed in-depth expertise in the instrumental analysis and evaluation of NIAS migrating from food contact materials.
Dr. Martin Eckardt
Dr. Martin Eckardt is a quality manager and scientific project manager. The state-certified food chemist completed his doctoral thesis on oligomers as NIAS in food contact materials at Technical University of Dresden and was honoured with the Bruno Rossmann Award of the German Food Chemistry Society for his research in 2021.
